I'm Jim Furry. I am a retired Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI. I retired in 2005 and began writing this book. I became interested in writing my own history after my father gave me a letter written by my grandfather when he was fighting in France in World War I. Because I learned so much more about my grandfather by reading his letter, I initially decided to write my story so my grandchildren would be able to learn what "Pappy" did in the FBI. I hope that in reading my book, you will enjoy reading about street agents and their dedication in keeping our country safe from criminal elements in our society.
One of my cases involved a Mafioso hit. My book reveals, " A made” member of the Colombo Crime family, James “Jimmy” Randazzo, who was a longtime friend and alleged member of Tutti’s crew was in a hot spot between the families. A federal case had been built against Randazzo and in the spring of 1993 there were rumors circulating that Randazzo might cooperate with the FBI against the Colombo Family. On May 17, 1993, Jimmy Randazzo was shot to death in the parking lot of the Tinton Falls, New Jersey, Holiday Inn.
I recently attended the Southeastern Writer's Association (SWA) annual workshop where I won two awards. One was for a novel I am writing and the other was for short fiction. The President of SWA, Amy Wethington presented me the award.
